Jim Knipe’s EMDR Toolbox is the first to bring together in one volume an overview of the principal issues in treatment of dissociative disorders in complex PTSD, and a description of the integration of specific EMDR-related interventions or “”tools”” with other psychotherapeutic treatments. These tools can significantly extend the therapeutic power of EMDR-related methods. Each intervention is examined in detail with accompanying transcripts illustrating the nuances and variations in how the intervention is applied. It is written by a highly esteemed EMDR scholar, trainer, international speaker, and author who is an EMDRIA-designated “”Master Clinician.”” This EMDR therapy book discusses how the concepts and vocabulary of other models of dissociation (particularly the Theory of Structural Dissociation of the Personality, and the Internal Family Systems model) translate directly into EMDR’s Adaptive Information Processing language. It presents detailed descriptions of specific EMDR-related tools that are useful in facilitating and safely accelerating therapeutic progress with clients suffering from Complex PTSD. These include such standard EMDR procedures as Trauma Processing and Resource Installation, several conceptual/cognitive/phenomenological models of dissociative personality structures and symptoms, and specific EMDR interventions for resolving dysfunctionally stored post-traumatic elements. The book will be of great value to therapists who wish to extend their use of basic EMDR to clients with emotional concerns varying in complexity.
Addressing emotional workplace abuse, this Palgrave Pivot takes a multidisciplinary approach which combines feminist research on violence with organisation and management studies, in order to offer a new approach on workplace violations. The book analyses why it is difficult for targets and organisations alike to name and identify emotional abuse and addresses the severe negative effects of abuse on the targets’ lives. It brings ethical leadership to the fore as a means to foster sustainable organisations. Using empirical data and research, this book highlights subtle forms of violations that take place in the workplace, and provides analysis from the perspective of the target. A valuable read for scholars and practitioners involved in organisational management and HRM, Emotional Workplace Abuse will help readers to understand the importance of sustainable leadership in preventing emotional workplace abuse.

Also explored are the latest advances in research design and analysis, and the implementation of best practices. Diagnostic, conceptual, and treatment issues are reviewed in depth. The volume examines the causes and mechanisms of PTSD on multiple levels, from psychological processes to genes and neurobiology. After providing a historical overview of the development of traumatic stress studies, the book presents major scientific foundations and theoretical perspectives regarding psychological trauma and PTSD. Risk and resilience processes are addressed across development and in specific populations. Degenerative and traumatic brain injury, neuroplasticity, and neurochemistry are also considered. The section on clinical practice offers the latest information on evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches, from psychosocial treatments to pharmacotherapy. Trauma exposure and physical health, cultural expression of posttraumatic syndromes, and forensic issues are also discussed. The final section covers promising emerging interventions, including public health approaches. The integrative concluding chapter identifies key unanswered questions with important implications for science and practice.
